The Dirección Nacional de Migración (National Directorate for Migration) conserves passenger arrival and departure records (19th and 20th century), citizenship letters and censuses of foreign nationals.

Secretaría de Estado de lo Interior y Policía. Migration Affairs: Holds citizenship letters (1928-1993), registration books of naturalisation papers (1882-1929), passenger lists (1894-1993) and applications for residence permits submitted by Spaniards.

Junta Central Electoral/Oficialías. The Oficialías (Civil Registry Offices) hold birth, marriage, baptism and death certificates.
