History:

Spanish lawyer. Son of Ignacio Despujol Rigalt, 6th Marquis of Palmerola, and Rosa Ricart. Addoptive son of Tarazona. Lawter of the State. 1st Baron of Monclar, 7th Marquis of Palmerola, 7th Count of Fonollar, Marquis of Callús. He married to María Josefa Díaz del Villar. He was succeeded, due to his resignation and later death, the son of Federico Despujol y Trenor, who married to Matilde Burgoyne Dolz. As the owner of the Castillo de Palmerola, in Girona, he developed different works in order to decently preserve it, and supported its real value. He did the same in other buildings, such as the church of San Vicente. However, his restoration facet does not end there. He also worked in his house in Masías de Voltregá (in the Llano de Vic), in the castle of Montclar (Lérida), and in the mansion of his family, located in Tarazona, where he did numerous works and contributed to the impact of the Dirección General de Bellas Artes, whose main aim was the maintenance of the historical-artistic and monumental patrimony of Spain.
