Spanish architect and town planner.
He was married to Laura Ramírez Martín, with whom he had five children: aura, Francisco, Joaquín, Luis and Miguel. He was a student of Torres Balbás, and graduated in the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Madrid in 1931. In 1942, he was appointed director of the Alhambra, a position that he would occupy until 1970. Between 1946 and 1960 he was also director of the Directorate-General of Architecture.
He would be the architect-conservator of the Alcazaba of Almeria, the Alcazaba of Malaga and will carry out the project for the construction of the Casa de Marruecos in Granada. He was also in charge of various restoration and conservation projects for the Alhambra and the Palace of Charles V.
Among his most important publications, we find Estudio Histórico Sobre El Albaicín, in 1933.
Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts. He was also a member of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando (Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando), of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Carlos (Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos) (Valencia), and the Real Academia de Nuestra señora de las Angustias (Royal Academy of Nuestra señora de las Angustias) (Granada).
