Díaz González, Eusebio (1878-1968)

Spanish Law professor. He was the son of Gabriel Díaz García and Francisca González Rodríguez.
He was awarded a degree on Law by the University of Salamanca and a doctorate on Law by the Universidad Central in Madrid with the thesis: “Estudios sobre los principals elementos que integran el Derecho civil español en general, indicando su alcance en la España Visigoda” [Studies about the main elements of the Spanish Civil Law in general indicating its importance from the Visigothic period in Spain].
In 1906 he took office, as a professor, of the chair of Roman Law at the University of Santiago de Compostela. That same year he was provided the authorization to extend his studies in Italy and France. Then, he moved to the chair of Roman Law at the University of Barcelona, where he would be attached to for the rest of his academic career until his retirement in 1948. During the Spanish Civil War he was a refugee in the National area of Cadiz. After the war he was given his chair back without being sanctioned and when he died in 1968 he was chair at the Board of the bank Caja de Pensiones in Barcelona.
