He was a Spanish professor of Law; Roman Law, Institutions of Canon Law and Forensic Practice. Son of Nemesio López and Micaela San Martín, he was married with Zoa Madariaga López and they did not have children.
He graduated in Law in the Universidad de Valladolid in 1858 and obtained the doctorate at the Universidad Central de Madrid one year later.
He has been always professionally linked to his home city. Professor of Roman Law, Institutions of canon Law and Forensic Practice of the Universidad de Valladolid.
