History:

Spanish writer and man of letters. Son of Emilio Cotarelo Mori. Married with María Botana Sieiro. He studied high school at the High School San Isidro of Madrid. Doctor in Philosophy and Literature by the Central University with the thesis: "Don Rodrigo Jiménez de Rada, Arzobispo de Toledo. Ensayo sobre su vida y obras".

He was appointed professor of Spanish Language and Literature at the University of Santiago de Compostela in 1904. Member of the Royal Spanish Academy since 1929. General Secretary of the Institute of Spain.
