History:

Spanish professor of Civil Law. He left the teaching activity to become priest in 1949. Then, he had a role of great importance in the initiation of the Concordant of the Holy See of 1953 and, later on, in the creation of the first Spanish Act of religious freedom. He went back to his academic career in the 60s of the XX century as a professor at the University of Navarra, where he worked until he was 90 years old.

He was a member of the Opus Dei since 1939, canonist of the Vatican since 1985 and consultant of the Pontifical Council one year later. In addition, he became Honorary Prelate of His Holiness. Moreover, he was member of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and he was the author of many studies about Civil and Ecclesiastical Law. Indeed, he worked in the configuration of the “New Regional Right of Navarra” since 1937.
