López Claros, Pedro (1818-1870)

He was a Spanish professor of the Escuela de Notarios y Escribanos de Madrid. Son of the colonel José María López and María Teresa Clarós, it is known that he was married and had a daughter, Teresa López Iglesias. The situation of professor and the homologation of his academic curriculum is up for conjecture concerning the changes occurred in Spain after the apparition of the Liberal Regime, which affected the “Planes de Estudio” throughout the 19th century until the definitive implementation of the Plan Moyano in 1857.
Apart from being professor, López Clarós had a relatively fructuous public life. Among other positions and activities he was: lawyer of the courts of the Territorial High Court of Madrid, being appointed lawyer for the General Captaincy Castilla La Nueva. Also, he worked as a lawyer of the poors. He was also Dean of the lawyers of beneficence of the Court in the years 1854 and 1855. Chosen parliamentary deputy by the province of Lérida in the years 1845 and 1846, honorary secretary of the queen, auxiliary official of the Ministry of Grace and Justice or fixed member of the Academia Matritense de Jurisprudencia y Legislación since the 6th of September, 1839.
Among his works, it is notable the Diccionario Teórico-Práctico de Enjuiciamiento Civil.
