Michael Joseph Anderson was an English film director.
He was son of Lawrence and Beatrice Anderson. He served in the Second World War.
Later on, he started with British movies since the 1949. He made cinema adaptations, but the most famous one was the one of Julio Verne's novel "Around the world in eighty days", who was a box-office succes and obtained an Oscar nomination. After his success, he moved to Hollywood, where he made several movies but without the previous good results. Some of them were "Logan's run" (1976) or "The shoes of the fisherman" (1968).
