US actor and film producer and director. Known as the pioneer of the US modern animation. He won 22 Oscars along his career as a producer. In 1920 he met Ub Iweks (1901-1971), and both created their own animation production company. Due to its lack of success, they traveled to Hollywood in 1923 and started to work in the short films series "Alice comedies". In 1928, Disney started to work in a new animation series, "Oswald the lucky rabbit". After losing its rights, he created a series of short films in which the newly created Mickey Mouse was the main character, and became into his star character. After the success of one of his short films, "Steamboat Willie" (1928), he created the series of short films "Silly Symphonies" in 1929. Among these short films, "Flowers and Trees" can be highlighted, which was the first color animated film and with which Disney won an Oscar. Moreover, "Three Little Pigs" can stand out, one of his most popular short films. In 1934, Disney started to work in the feature film "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" (1937), which was a runaway success, and which was followed by "Pinocchio" (1941) and "Bambi" (1942). In the 50's and the 60's, he directed and produced some of his most popular films, such as "Alice in Wonderland" (1951), "Peter Pan" (1953) and "Sleeping Beauty" (1959), as well as "Mary Poppins" (1964).
