Oreste Biancoli was an Italian scriptwriter, dramatist and film director.
He wrote 92 movies between 1930 and 1986. He stood out more as scriptwriter than director, directing only 9 movies. At the age of 24 he was already a lawyer and started to study Journalism. While studying, he collaborated with Dino Falconi in some succesfull comedies before the arrival of the sound. During Second World War he began directing movies and was artistic director of Scalera Films. As time went by, he focused his career on scriptwriting and left aside direction. His most famous script was "Bicycle thieves" (1948). The most famous movies under his direction were: "Piccolo alpino" (1940), Il chiromante" (1941) and "Penne nere" (1942).
He died the 25th November 1971 at the age of 74 in Rome.
