History:

Robert Benton is an American film director and scriptwriter.

He began writing scripts with his colleague David Newman while collaborating as editor in the magazine "Esquire". He got success with "Kramer vs Kramer" (1979), in which he was scriptwriter and director at the same time. He used to write all the scripts of his movies in order to have everything under control. His most famous movies, apart from "Kramer vs Kramer", were: "Superman" (1978), "Bonnie and Clyde" (1967) and "Nobody's fool" (1994).
