André Berthomieu was a French film director and writer.
He worked especially in comedy. He started as Julien Duvivier's assistant. One of his most famous works on the other side of the screen is the book that he wrote about cinema, "Essai de grammaire cinématographique". He made around 60 movies between 1928 and 1960. Some of the most famous ones are "Le roi Pandore" (1950) and "Sacrée Jeunesse" (1958).
He died the 10th April 1960 in Oise (France) at the age of 57.
