Alberto Bevilacqua was an Italian writer, film director and scriptwriter.

Although his great passion was the cinema, he stood out as poet and journalist. In the fifties he started to publish his first writings in La Gazzeta di Parma. His first tales collection was "La polvere sull'erba" (1955) and, years later, "L'amicizia perduta" (1961). Though his real passion was cinema, something in which he did not stand out as good as in wrtiting, he knew how to adapt some novels into cinema. As film director, some outstanding movies are: "Lady Caliph" (1970), "Attenti al buffone" (1975) and "La donna delle meravigilie" (1985). He was considered one of the most prolifics film directors due to his versatility and his large field of action.

He died the 9th September 2013 in Rome at the age of 79.
