History:

Alessandro Blaseti was an Italian film director and scriptwriter.

He studied Law in university and worked as journalist, film critic and actor. He made his debut as director with the movie "Sun" (1929). After this first movie, he began working with producer Stefano Pittaluga directing the first sound film of Italy: "Resurrection" (1930). He became the driving force of the Italian cinema industry recovery in the thirties. He was called the "Father of the Italian cinema" during the fascist age thanks to the direct support of Mussolini himself.

He died the 1st Febraury 1987 in Rome at the age of 86.
