She was born in Barcelona in 1925, daughter of Miguel Baixeras and María Puigbert, workers of a textile company. She had two brothers and her mother belonged to the General Union of Workers (UGT). When the Spanish Civil War started, her parents had to send their children to Mexico, to the "Morelia" school, due to the difficulties they had to take care of them, and the shortage and hunger. She was one of the five hundred children that were on board "Mexique" ship, from Bordeaux to the city of Morelia. She lived in the orphanage along with her brothers, where she was taken care of and was educated until she reached the age that the institution could have her. Se spent some time in a refuge in Guadalajara (Mexico), then returned to Morelia, and finally went to another orphanage in Mexico, on her own request. During that time, she worked in several laboratories and hospitals with Spanish and French doctors, and also studied in "Luis Vives" school.

She met her husband, a Spanish exiled from Aragón and memeber of the Communist Party, in Mexico. She got married at the age of 20 and had three children. She did not see her father again, but she did meet her mother, who exiled in France and paied her a visit in Mexico. Concepción became a Mexican citizen and now lives in Mexico City.
