Spanish exiled teacher who was born in Sabadell, Barcelona, in 1894. He was son and grandson of National Professors. He studied in Sabadell and later in Tarragona. He started his pedagogy degree in the "Escuela de Estudios Superiores del Magisterio" of Madrid. In 1915, he worked as teacher in the "Escuela Normal" of Guadalajara (Spain), a school he helped in its foundation. Although he worked as teacher, he did not quit his studies. He married Luisa Porrera Llopis in 1920, and graduated in Natural Sciences in 1921. His pedagogic concern led him to direct "Escuelas Normales" magazine, in which the pedagogic bases of the educational reform were settled during the Second Spanish Republic.
Since 1921 to 1936, he kept working as teacher and never joined a political party, though he sympathized with the Socialist Party. In 1937, he was designated School Inspector.
In February 1939, He went with his wife and their children to Figueras and then to France, where they stayed in some friends' houses in Alsace, Strasbourg and Saverne. The 24th May 1939, he and his family went to Mexico on board "Sinaia" ship. He founded in 1940, along with other exiled teachers, a basic school in Mexico, and worked in Luis Vives High School in 1941.
Between 1941 and 1979, he worked in the "Escuela Nacional de Ciencias Biológicas" of México and joined the "Unión de Profesores Universitarios Españoles" in Mexico as well. He focused on investigation and published 36 books about mining, among others. He did not become Mexican citizen although he did not return to Spain. He died in 1981.
