History:

Spanish teacher who was exiled. He was born in Llagunes (Lleida) in 1911. His parents were teachers and made his basic studies in the Pyrenees. At the age of 14, he studied in the Normal School of Barcelona and stayed at the students residence of Sarriá. When he finished his studies, he worked as teacher in the High Scool of Barcelona and was part of the FETE and the Ateneu Enciclopèdic Popular. He passed the "Civil Service examination" and worked as teacher in Villafranca del Penedés.

When the Spanish Civil War started, he joined the Unified Socialist Party of Catalonia and was designated Executive Secretary of the "Federación Catalana de trabajadores de la Enseñanza". He served in the army in 1937, in the Zapadores platoon and spent some months in the rearguard. Later on in Chinchón, he worked as Commissioner for Health and responsible of the "Milicias de Cultura".

He was arrested in 1939 by the Military Information Service and imprisoned in El Escoriál. When Madrid was taken by the army of Franco, he was freed and fled to his father house in Tárrega along with other colleagues. He went to Andorra in April 1939, and then to France walking through the mountains. He arrived to Toulouse by train, where he managed to contact some friends and was sheltered by the "Unión de Intelectuales". He spent six months there and then went to Dominican Republic on board "Mexique" ship. He arrived to Mexico in 1945 after some years in Cuba, where he returned since 1960 to 1967, working in the "Instituto Pedagógico de la Habana".

During his stay in Mexico, he worked in publishing houses, was head of advertising of the XEX radio station, teacher and also kept collaborating with the Communist Party until his death, the 3rd October 1987.
