Spanish professor and researcher that exiled during the Spanish Civil War, son of historian and archeologist Pedro Bosch Gimpera and Josefina García Díaz. He married a Mexican art historian and researcher Elisa Vargaslugo Rangel. He arrived as refugee to Mexico by plane the 13th May 1941. He started a degree in the Autonomous University of Barcelona, but he was forced to interrupt it due to the Spanish Civil War. He resumed his studies in the University of Oxford, but stopped again because of the Second World War. In Mexico, he resumed once more his studies in the "Colegio de Mexico", the National School of Anthropology and History, and the Faculty of Arts of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where he carried out a PhD in 1960. He was teacher in several schools and faculties of Mexico like the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of the UNAM.

He was researcher in the "Instituto de investigaciones Históricas" of the UNAM and was responsible of the administration of institutions related to higher education like, for example, the presidency of the "Centro Interamericano de Libros Académicos" of Mexico. He published many of his works, especially those about the relationship between Mexico and the USA during the XIXth Century, something that was his main field of investigation throughout his life, and carried out a final thesis: "La base de la política exterior estadounidense" (1965).

He was the creator and father of the "Técnica de Investigación Documental", a method that helps students to develop their professional thesis. This technique was well received by several institutions from different Latin American countries. He was granted two scholarships, the Rockefeller and the John Simon Guggenheim. He also was designated Researcher Emeritus of the "Instituto de investigaciones Históricas" of the UNAM in 1987. He was member of the Mexican Academy of History in 1989, holding the chair number 19. He also was awarded with the "Premio Universidad Nacional en Docencia en Ciencias Sociales" of the UNAM in 1991. He died the 1st August 1994 in Mexico City.
