History:

Exiled Spaniard. Daughter of the republican pilot Gumersindo Areán Gutierrez and Amalia Carrillo Gutierrez. She has two brothers: José and Fernando. She leaves from Casablanca with her family aboard the Nyassa to Veracruz.

Passionate for mathematics, she studied business in Mexico, where she would work in the family business for several years. There, she married Alfonso Díaz Priede, an Asturian in Mexico, an economic immigrant that worked as a car seller for Renault and other brands. Later on, they set up a clothing store in a low income neighborhood of Mexico City. In both businesses she worked as an accountant.

They returned to Asturias to spend there long periods of time.
