History:

Otto Preminger was an American of origin Austrian-Hungarian actor, film director and producer. Preminger came from a wealthy family and soon showed a great interest in theatre and performing. His interest in directing grew up while doing theatre and led him to start in this subject. He recieved an offer to direct a movie and, though it was not his intention to move to cinema business, the good critiques made him to continue working on this field. In 1935, when his fame was quite high, he recieved an offer from the USA to direct an audition of an opera singer and, in 1937, he was offered to direct the movie "Kidnapped". Thanks to this, he was able to enter in Hollywood. His great success arrived with the movie "Laura" (1944), that made him be one of the most important film directors in the world.
