Christy Cabanne was an American film director, actor and scriptwriter. He began his career in theatre, working as actor and director. When he changed to cinema business, he worked as director and scriptwriter, although he had some roles as actor. At the beginning, he worked as D. W. Griffith's assistant and learnt the directors work. He was hired by several companies like Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and also filmed some movies for Universal Studios. At the end of his career, he made low-budget films. Among his most outstanding movies are: "The Mummy's Hand" (1940), "Scared to Death" (1947) and "The man who walked alone" (1945).
