Alejandro María de Aguado y Remírez de Estenoz (Seville, June 29, 1784 - Gijon, April 12, 1842). He was a Spanish banker and militar, I Marquis of Las Marismas del Guadalquivir and I Viscount of Monte Rico. In 1808, he was appointed Colonel of Lancers. In 1811, he was appointed General Commander Fog County.

In the War of Independence, Marshal Jean de Dieu Soult (1769-1851) appointed him his field assistant and on completion of war, he emigrated to Paris.

In Paris, he operated his activity in the financial world, banking and commercial companies and in 1830, he received the title of Marquis and banker of the Court. And in 1832, he ceased his activity as banker of the Court, returning it later in 1837. Then, he was dedicated to the Greek loan, being rewarded by this activity with the “Cruz del Salvador” – Cross of the Savior -.

He was Mayor during several years in Ivry-sur Seine (France). In his exile, he protected Jose de San Martin (1778-1850), liberator of America, and partners in the Spanish Army.

He was decorated with several orders of chivalry, national and foreign. The national awards that he received were the Knight of the Royal and Military Order of Spain (La Gazeta November 15, 1811), Commander of the Order of Carlos III and Knight Commander of the Order of Isabella the Catholic. And the foreign were the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor (1828) and Knight Commander of the Order of the Redeemer.
