History:

Gianluigi Calderone is an Italian film director. His career started as director assistant of Bernardo Bertolucci with the movie "Il sosia" (1968) and "Love and Anger" (1969). The first movie he directed was the short film "All'apparir del vero" in 1966. In 1974, he directed his two first long films for the big screen: "Appassionata" and "The First Time on the Grass". He later focused on television business, directing movies and series as well. Among his most outstanding works in this field are: "Série noire" (1994), "Benito" (1993), "I ragazzi del muretto" (1995), "Sarò il tuo giudice" (2001) and "Don Zeno - L'uomo di Nomadelfia" (2008).
