Spanish writer and priest. Son of Fernándo González and Gertrudis Hernández. He graduated and obtained his doctorate in Theology from the University of Salamanca. He was canon of the Cathedral of Plasencia. In 1805 he sit for an official exam and obtained the chair of Rhetoric, Languages and Holy Theology from the University of Salamanca.

He was royal commissioner at the General Archive of Simancas, since March 1815, to receive the documentation plundered by Napoleon in 1811 and taken back to Spain in 1816 according to the agreements of the Congress of Vienna. He stayed in the Archive in a stable manner until 1822 and occasionally until 1833.

He was a relevant member of the Royal Academy of History in 1815 due to his education and close friendship with other academicians.

He also collaborated with works of documentary sources and historical scholarship about population census, mines, the Basque Country and Philip II. Knight of the Order of Charles III. Soon before dying he was named minister of the Tribunal de la Rota.
