Renato Cenni was an Italian painter, draughtsman and documentary director. He studied Arts and worked as an illustrator and painter. During the War he remained in exile for seven years in Paris because of refusing to join the fascist party and when he came back to Genoa he was sent to jail, considered an enemy of the regime. Once released, he kept working as an artist and shot "Il ponte dell'universo" in 1956, a documentary that was his only cinematographic work.
