Jean Chapot was a French film director and scriptwriter. Chapot started working in the world of cinema as a helper and director's assistant and, in 1957, he made his debut as a director with the film "La Voleuse". He got to work with directors the likes of Vittorio De Seta y Yves Ciampi. By the end of the seventies he started to direct television films and episodes of television series. Among his most famous films are: "The Burned Barns" (1973), "Chimney No. 4" (1966) and "Le fusil à lunette" (1972).
