History:

Charles Walters was an American director, choreographer and actor. He began his career as a dancer and actor and thus he became one of the main dance directors at the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. This way, he started to direct the musicals becoming one of the most famous musical directors between 1940 and 1960. He directed really famous actors such as Judy Garland, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Esther Williams or Cary Grant. He was the director of "The Barkleys of Broadway" (1949), last film in which Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers would work together. In 1953, he was nominated to the Oscar for Best Director with "Lili". By the end of his career he made television films and episodes for television series. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Among his most well-known films we can find: "High Society" (1956), "Easter Parade" (1948) and "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" (1964).
