History:

He was a photographer and architect and he also worked as educator and aid worker in the blood transfusions team during the Spanish Civil War. In 1930, he showed a strong interest for the international European situation and he met Norman Bethune. He went to Madrid when the War broke out and there he joined the Canadian Blood Transfusion Unit which endorsed the Spanish Republican forces. There is evidence of his membership to the register of photographers of the Defense Committee of Madrid during the Spanish Civil war.
