Spanish public notary and lawyer. Son of Nicolas Azaña, who was also a public notary, and Escolástica Hernández. He inherited his father Clerk`s office in Alcalá de Henares, where he also was working as the Mayor's secretary. He fought for keeping the University of Alcalá. Azaña married Eusebia Concepción Rojas haveing together six children, Leonardo, Quintín, Gregorio, Nicolás, Alejandra and Carlos Azaña Rojas. He also was the great grandfather of Manuel Azaña, the president of the II Spanish Republic.
