History:

Spanish Magistrate, Mayor of the Royal Court of Madrid, and deputy in the 1812 Courts of Cádiz. In 1794, he was elected Mayor of the Crime of the Royal Chancery in Valladolid. Alcalá was elected Minister of Finance in 1814. His parents, being his father a captain, were Antonio Alcalá-Galiano and Antonia Alcalá-Galiano Pinedo. Alcalá's brothers were Vicente and Dionisio, both being professional military workers. His uncle was the writer Antonio Alcalá-Galiano Fernández Villavencio. Alcalá got married with María Josefa Jiménez Carmona y Gálvez, who was one of his relatives. In 1820, Alcalá-Galiano was dismissed and retired due to his liberal ideas. In 1825 he came back to the Council, and died a year later.
