History:

US scripter and film producer and director. Known for his comedies and musical films. He made his debut as a director with the short film "Hungry Lions" (1919). He directed the first color film produced by Warner Bros, "The Desert Song" (1929). Some of Del Ruth's works as a director are "Across the Pacific" (1926), "Gold Diggers of Broadway" (1929) and "The Maltese Falcon" (1931).
