History:

Austrian actor, scriptwriter, and film director. He began his career as a theater actor and he switched to the film industry in 1936 with "Burgtheater" (1936). After the war he acted in "Heiderlberger Romanze" (1951). Despite his successful career, he never managed to take the leap to Hollywood, losing a role in "My Man Godfrey" (1956) due to memory problems. He also directed two films, "Hanussen" (1955) and "Ich suche dich" (1956).
