History:

Japanese scriptwriter and film director. In 1946 he joined the Toho company as an assistant director. In 1959 he debuted as a director with "Osorubeki hiasobi" (1959). His first films tended to be thriller, but as of the 60s he stated creating comedies. During this time, in 1966 he directed the film "Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster" from the Godzilla saga. After this, he continued to work on some of Toho's most popular film series, such as "Young Guy" and "Konto 55". At the end of his career, after Ishirō Honda retired (1911-1993), he was one of the most requested directors to make films with special effects.
