He was the Marquis of San Felipe and Santiago de Bejucal (IV), Count of the Castle (I) and a government representative in the Cortes (parliament).
He was the son of Juan Francisco Núñez del Castillo y Sucre, III Marquis of San Felipe y Santiago de Bejucal; and Juana María Molina y Pita de Figueroa, who was the daughter of Manuel de Molina y Ortiz de Matienzo, the perpetual alderman of the City Hall of Havana.
He was Gentleman of the Bedchamber of Carlos IV and founded an entailed estate linked to the title of Marquis of San Felipe and Santiago. He married María Ignacia Espinosa de Contreras y Jústiz (daughter of Jerónimo Espinosa de Contreras y Jústiz, 1st Count of Gibacoa, Colonel of Militias of Matanzas, Mayor of Havana), in the Cathedral of Havana, on October 12, 1772.
He was appointed Government Representative to the Cortes on August 6, 1810, making him one of the first people who represented Cuba in the Spanish Congress. He was a member of the Commission for the Publication in Latin America of the Decree of Installation of the Courts, and of the Commission of Honor.
