History:

He was the son of Gaspar Francisco de Orue Verastegui and María Rosa Mirones Obregón.

Domingo de Orue y Mirones married twice. First in February 1802 with María Josefa de Salazar y Gabiño (1748-1825), several years older than him and widow of Colonel Pedro José Carrillo de Albornoz y Bravo de Lagunas. He had no descendants from this marriage. In May 1830, Domingo Orue married Juana Rosa Alvarado y Valdivieso, daughter of Francisco Alvarado y Vásquez de Velasco, Count of Cartago.

He became a sailor in the service of the Crown, and has appointed ensign on November 2, 1801. He was already a captain at the time of his first marriage.

He was elected Government Representative of Tarma (Peru), in the Cortes of 1813 (parliament). However, he did not took office in Cadiz, due to the moment in which his election took place and the long time it would have taken him to arrange his trip since the Cortes were dissolved in 1814.

Domingo Orue later joined the cause of Peru's independence, serving as José de San Martín's aide in the north of the country. Shortly afterwards he was named colonel of the Royal Armies. Due to his maternal family's connection with Chuquisaca (Alto Perú), he managed to become a Government Representative of Puno before the Peruvian Constituent Congress, although he only held that position from February to March 1825. In this time period he was promoted to Brigadier General of the Republic of Peru.
