History:

He was a Mexican director, scriptwriter, journalist, translator and writer known for movies such as Bodas de fuego (1951), El hombre de la máscara de hierro (1943) and Corazón de niño (1939). He lived in the United States working for publishers such as Reader's Digest. Later he returned to Mexico, where he joined the film industry. He worked with different genres but we can highlight children's books. He and his brother tried to give a new dynamism to Mexican cinema. In 1953 he won the Ariel Award for Best Adaptation. He is considered as one of the directors from the Golde Age of Mexican cinema.
