History:
He was a Japanese director known for his comedy and war films. His films include Ningen gyorai kaiten (1955), Zoku Aoi sanmyaku Yukiko no maki (1957), Submarine I-57 Will Not Surrender (1959), Taiheiyo no tsubasa (1963) and The Last War (1961). During his more than 35 years of activity he directed more than 69 films, but it was stopped because of the Second World War. He died in Shimane Prefecture on August 15, 2009.
