History:

He was a Japanese director and screenwriter. Horiuchi was known as a master of program pictures at the Shochiku Ofuna film studio which he joined in 1940. Then, in 1965, he retired from the Shochiku Ofuna studio after his directorial work "The Order of the Salaryman ". After that he demonstrated his skill in TV films. The last work he made was "Japan's masterpiece ghost story theater" which was broadcasted in 1979. He is best known for directing the following films: Iroboke yokuboke monogatari (1963), Kaettekita endan (1958), Boryoku no hatoba (1957), Kettô gaî (1959).
