Captain General of the Navy, Minister.
He sat down as Guardiamarina in El Ferrol in 1780 and promoted to lieutenant of a frigate in 1782. He participated in the expeditions to Algiers in the years 1783-1784, then, from Cartagena, he took part in various actions in the war against France. Battle of San Vicente. Brigadier in 1814. In April of this year he intervenes in the Battle of the Campos de Tolosa (France).
He seconded the movement of Díaz Porlier, in 1815, therefore, sentenced to confiscation of property and to be shot from behind, he had to emigrate to England. In 1816, he is cited as willing to participate in Javier Mina's expedition over Mexico.
He returned to Spain in 1820. President of the Patriotic Society of El Ferrol, September 29, 1820. Colonel of the 6th Marine Infantry regiment, in El Ferrol, 1821-1823; general commander of Tuy, 1822, and of Vigo, 1823. Squad leader in April 1823. Appointed Minister of the Navy in 1823, but did not accept and continued in his General Command.
He emigrated again in 1823, residing in Bristol, and rejoined Spain in September 1833. Commander of the maritime province of Bilbao, 1835, he defended the city against the Carlists. Commander General of the Navy of Cádiz, 1836, he presided over the revolutionary junta of this city in the same year 1836. In February 1837 he passed to the Special Court of War and Navy, he was vice president of the Admiralty in May 1843, captain general of the Navy in 1844.
Appointed senator, he was sworn in on December 17, 1844. He owned the great crosses of San Hermenegildo, Carlos III and Isabel la Católica.
