Spanish athlete and diplomat. He was born in Barcelona on January 1 of 1896. Son of composer and pianist Isaac Albéniz and Rosa Jordana Larraiga, he was the brother of Enriqueta, Blanca and Laura Albéniz Jordana. He played with the Barcelona Football Club as a forward in the season of 1901-1902 with a sophisticated technique. A year later he signed up with the Real Madrid. Later on he became a diplomat and ambassador of the League of Nations (Geneva). He married Rosalie de Swert and they had two daughters: Teresita and Cecilia. Like his siter Laura and his mother Rosa, Alfonso had a great friendship with the composer Manuel de Falla. He died in Estoril (Portugal) at the age of fifty-five. He is buried in the Montjuic Cemetery of Barcelona.
