History:

Pianist and harpsichordist of Armenian origin. She was born in 1879 and died in 1952. Sister of the singer Marguerite Babaïan. She was known in artistic and family circles by the name of Chouchik. She studied piano in Tbilisi, and in Paris under Élie-Miriam Delaborde and Wanda Landowska. She later specialized in the harpsichord. She married the musicologist Louis Laloy in 1906. She became known as a great performer and, with her sister, she gave concerts in different halls of Paris between 1907 and 1925. Like her husband, she met and exchanged letters with the composer Manuel de Falla.
