Spanish tenor.

He was born on August 26, 1877, in Bilbao and passed away on June 6, 1952, in Buenos Aires.His father was the horticulturist Juan Cruz Eguileor, and his brothers were Eduardo and Manuel de Eguileor Orueta.

He became a certified agronomist in Madrid, completed a pre-engineering course at the Universidad de Deusto, and studied industrial engineering in Barcelona, where he joined the Orfeón Vasco and discovered his musical vocation. He trained as a singer in Milan and was a disciple of Santos Sarabia.

He made his debut at the Gran Teatro del Liceo in Barcelona in 1905, under the baton of Antoni Ribera, and in 1907 he made his first appearance in Bilbao at the Teatro Arriaga, performing Richard Wagner's "Lohengrin". Dugen returned to the Bilbao theatre for the 1907-1908, 1914-1915 and 1917-1918 seasons.

Between 1911 and 1914 he performed at various halls in Italy, where he was also praised for his renditions of Wagner. During World War I, he spent three months in 1917 performing on the Greek island of Corfu, and after the war he visited other European cities. He premiered Jaume Pahissa's "La Morisca" at the Barcelona Liceo in 1919 and recorded pieces for Odeón, including "L'uomo che ride" by Arrigo Pedrollo and "Zortziko: La del pañuelo rojo" by Avelino Aguirre Lizaola. Eguileor mainly performed lieder at his recitals in the 1930s, traveling across Europe on contract with the Kosertholaget International Concert Company. He was part of an initiative for the advancement of operatic art, which he sent to Manuel de Falla in 1935, asking for his support. He moved to Buenos Aires in 1940, where he continued performing and founded a singing school. In addition to the aforementioned works, his repertoire included compositions by José María Usandizaga, Father Donostia, Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Umberto Giordano and Gaetano Donizetti.
