Music critic and doctor of law.
He wrote music reviews for Dutch periodicals like the "Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant" and was a correspondent for the newspaper "Haagsche Post". He wrote to Manuel de Falla from Paris in 1926, after meeting the composer on a trip to Granada. That same year, he travelled across Algeria and Tunisia before meeting his sister in Sicily. He also visited Rome and Milan. He was acquainted with several personalities in the music world, including the Dutch orchestra conductor, pianist and composer Willem Mengelberg.
