Italian violinist and orchestra conductor.
He was born in 1877 in Italy. In 1896, he founded the Quatuor Sechiari and in 1904, the Double Quintette de Paris, a string and wind ensemble formed by the principal soloists of the Société Lamoureux and the Orchestre de l'Opéra de Paris. The members included Pierre Sechiari himself as the violinist, violist Maurice Vieux, cellist Jules Marneff, flutist Adolphe Henne, oboist Louis Bas, clarinetist Henry Lefebvre, horn player Fernand Reine, bassoonist Ernest Vicentini, and pianist Georges de Lansuay.
In Spain, the Double Quintette performed in Oviedo, Valladolid, Zaragoza, and Logroño, where the ensemble was hired by the Centro Artístico in October 1908. He was the conductor of the Nouveaux Concerts du Kursaal and worked as the first violinist in the Orchestre des Concerts Lamoureux until 1907, when he resigned. Previously, in 1906, he had founded the Concerts Sechiari and conducted their orchestra on numerous occasions. On May 2, 1911, he performed at the Salle Gaveau in Paris, alongside singer Maggie Teyte and John Powell, where they performed works by Frédéric Chopin, Camille Saint-Saëns, Franz Liszt, Claude Debussy, and Marco Antonio Charpentier.
In 1920, he was appointed conductor of the Concerts Classiques de Marseille, and four years later, on May 25, 1924, he informed Manuel de Falla from Paris of his intention to include "La vida breve" (1904-1913) in the program; he also mentioned that he had heard the work conducted by Pau Casals in Paris the day before. During this period, he was also the musical director of the Grand Casino de Vichy. In June 1930, for the benefit of the Maison de Repos des Vieux Musiciens, he participated in a concert at the Salle Pleyel in Paris, which also featured pianist José Iturbi, violinist Georges Enesco, and flutist Philippe Gaubert. He passed away in May 1932 in Paris (France).
