History:

There are few data about this Jesuit school located in the town of Alcaraz (Albacete). It appears in several papers about the Order and they indicate that it has existed since 1609. Other historians expose that it was built in 1617, the year in which it was also destroyed by the Royal Council of Castile, since the works were initiated without a license. These sources expose that it was rebuilt in 1647 and that, in the middle of the 19th century, it was in ruins. It is known that it counted on a Grammar teacher and that the people in charge of it had to mediate through lawsuits between neighbors and lords.

Context:

The building that was taken up by the school is nowadays used as a restaurant and a rural hostelry.
