Colegio de San Andrés de La Seu d'Urgell (Lleida, España)Alternative forms (other languages) Other forms
from XVI to 1767
The sources consulted state that a college of the Society of Jesus in la Seu de Urgell was founded in 1599 by the bishop Andrés Capilla. It counted on two Theology teachers, one Philosophy teacher and two Grammar teachers. It cannot be confirmed that it is the College of San Andrés because it is called by another name. The following development of this institution is still unknown. It is documented that it became inoperative due to the Pragmatic Sanction published by Charles III (1759-1788) in 1767.
