Spanish writer, teacher, theologian, pedagogian and religious jesuit.
Born in 1536 in Teruel, and was son of the doctor Bernardino de Ripalda, who opposed to his religious profession.
He entered the Jesus company, and thereafter, he was a teacher in Plasencia, Valladolid and Ávila. He was captured for complicity, heresy and concealment by the Inquisition Court of Valladolid, but he was finally absolved.
He was vinculated to mother Theresa of Jesus as a confessor; it was him who told her to write the Book of the Foundations.
He passed away in 1618 in Toledo.
