Spanish biologist.

Son of Salvador Pardo, born in Valencia in 1897. After obtaining his baccalaureate title in Valencia's High School in 1913, where he had the professor of Natural History Celso Arévalo as a teacher, he began to study on his own and with his help the career of Natural Sciences. He was examined in Barcelona's and Madrid's Central Universities, and he licensed in February 1919.

From very early, he collaborated with Arévalo in the Hydrobiology Laboratory of the Institute, and in 1918 he assumed its direction. Two years later, the Laboratory became part of the National Museum of Natural Sciences, and Pardo was named helper. In 1922, he also began to work in the Cabinet and Laboratory of Natural History of the Institute, and to publish studies about La Albufera in scientific magazines like the Boletín de la Real Sociedad Española de Historia Natural, the Anales del Instituto General and Técnico de Valencia or the Belgian magazine Annales de Biologia Lacustre. During this time, he collaborated with the botanic Arturo Caballero.

In 1927, he moved to Madrid, and thanks to his former teacher, Arévalo, he entered in 1929 in the recently created Superior Council of Fishing and Hunting, and became the boss copywriter of the Boletín de Pesca y Caza, publishing numerous articles about fish farming. Abolished the Council in 1932, he was named collaborator of the Biology Section of Continental Waters in the Forestal Institute of Investigations and Experiences. Since then, he developed several scientific projects, like the Diccionario de ictiología, piscicultura y pesca fluvial or the limnographic and biologic study of La Albufera, which would be published in 1942 with the title La Albufera de Valencia. Among his most outstanding works are Lagos de España ( 1932), Catálogo de los lagos de España ( 1948) and the treaty of Acuicultura continental (1951). He was also copywriter of the magazine Montes between 1946 and 1957. In addition to his scientific studies, he wrote historical works about fishing: Las cofradías de pescadores ( 1947) and Apuntes para la historia de la pesca continental española ( 1950- 1951).

Married to Carmen Morote, he passed away in Madrid in 1958 .
