Born in Valtiera (Navarra). Since he was twelve he lived in Andalucía: Granada, Jerez and Arcos. Graduated in Pharmacy, in 1939, he settles definitely in Arcos de la Frontera. Since then, he has cultivated the art of photography, motivated by the grace and beauty of the village's geography. He made a few reportage of Arcos and its streets, its patios, its fiestas, etc. He was especially devoted to the photo-documentation of church interiors, images and architectural details. He contributed with his photographs to the promotion of the city abroad, collaborating with specialized journals and magazines. He participated in the application for the designation of Arcos as a Monumental Site and as a City of Tourist Interest. His work has also documented the achievement of the designation of the church of Santa María as a Minor Basilica.

During his last years, he participated in collective expositions of the Asociación Fotográfica Arcense FO-CAL and in individual expositions. One of them on the occasion of his appointment as Honorary President of the Association, in which he presented a general sample of his work, and another with the title Arcos Nevado. An indefatigable researcher in the field of photography when there were fewer means to do so, he was the very well deserved appointed Adoptive Son of Arcos in 1982. Nowadays, the Foundation Víctor Marín is responsible for preserving and promoting his work.

La Fundación "Víctor Marín" fue creada dentro de la Delegación de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de Arcos de la Frontera; recoge todo el legado fotográfico, documental y literario de Víctor Marín Solano.

La finalidad de dicha Fundación consiste en inventariar, digitalizar, conservar y dar a conocer este legado cultural, imprescindible para conocer la historia gráfica de la ciudad, mediante exposiciones, publicaciones, etc., a la vez que fomentar la afición a la fotografía por medio de la creación del Premio de Fotografía "Víctor Marín" y del Premio de Fotografía Escolar "Víctor Marín".
